Latino Music Cafe 2012 Resolutions
Posted on 02. Jan, 2012 by Hector Aviles in Blog
I’m not that big on New Year’s resolutions as I believe on continuous improvement, not in once a year improvements. But it’s a good time to reflect on the last year and apply lessons learnt.
In 2011 I change jobs. After 15 years in Microsoft, I now work for an Austrian manufacturer with US operations based in Atlanta. The challenge of the new job and the relocation it will bring have put a dent on my blogging time.
After starting to do video reviews of music CDs, which is a lot of fun to do, the job change eliminated my time to do this as I travelled quite a bit. In December I didn’t post a single blog
But after 3 months on the job, and some time this holiday season to reflect and get my thoughts reorganized, I’m ready to get back to business and share music content.
Resolution #1 – more blogging. I do a lot of reading and a lot of listening to new Latin music. I’ve been sending links of what I read to my tweeter account (@hectoraviles) and to my Facebook accounts. So now, it’s back to sharing more Latin music reviews, interviews with artists, and opinions on what’s going on in the music business.
Resolution #2 – back to video. I’ll be back with video reviews. They are fun and you can find them in our YouTube channel.
Resolution #3 – add a podcast. I have a few interviews that would make for great audio podcasts. You can consume these in your smartphone, mp3 player, or your PC. I think you’ll enjoy hearing directly from the artists I’ve talked to.
I hope to have you back for a great musical journey in 2012.
Hector
