Pitbull Well Deserved Award at Premios Juventud

One of the best things that came out from Univision’s Premios Juventud was the recognition Pitbull received during the award telecast.

Pitbull’s Success = Hard work, Charisma, and Collaborations

The Cuban-American rapper has captivated the Latin music scene with hard work, charisma, evolution of his style, and becoming the master of recording collaborations. Pitbull worked hard and plenty of charisma to go with it. He worked to find the right formula that resonated with the pop and Latin music fans. Once he figured all that out, he then began collaborating as guest in other artist recordings.

Today Pitbull is one of the most sought after artists in Latin and pop music. This is despite the fact that he is mostly a singles sensation. His albums are a 1 or 2 hits albums, but he has so many collaborations with other artists that it seems he is always on the top songs list.

Pitbull’s Community Work

In addition to his success in his music career, he is also involved in his community. He sponsors a school in Miami, which serves the need of a lot of kids of that Miami community.

If all successful artists emulated Pitbull and sponsored a school, we all would be much better off that what we are.

Well Deserved Recognition

I’m not a big fan or rap or reguetton, as it puts too much emphasis on superficial sex, which I find is the wrong message to send out to our young people. These genres also tend to have lyrics that diminish women, although some artists began to change that to the point of being accused of completely changing the reguetton genre. But I believe that was a positive change.

Pitbull, despite some of his questionable material, has proven to be a responsible and well-liked artist. You don’t see him involved in too much personal controversy, and is often collaborating with many sorts of artists in their recordings.

It was funny to see him receive his Premios Juventud Award while using his cell phone to read the list of acknowledgements he wanted to say in his award speech.
